Tasting Notes & Distinctive Features

The Teamaker’s Private Reserve is an eclectic collection of rare, fine teas, each handpicked by Merrill J. Fernando, Founder of Dilmah, to represent the finest in tea.

The beautifully even leaf develops a mahogany coloured liquor, with an unusually gentle yet rich aroma and flavour, reminiscent of Turkish delight with a touch of spice. The rose maintains seductive balance with a mellow Dombagastalawa Estate Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe, with a finish that is luxurious and tinged with a throat warming ginger flavour. The soft embrace of rose produces an indulgent and aromatic tea that is imbued with romance and adventure.

The Teamaker’s Private Reserve is an eclectic collection of rare and exceptional teas, each handpicked by Merrill J Fernando, Founder of Dilmah, to represent the very finest in tea. This collection reflects a lifetime devoted to tea — a pursuit of quality, authenticity, and craftsmanship that redefined how the world experiences Ceylon tea.

From the beginning, Dilmah stood apart as the first producer-owned tea brand, offering tea that is ‘picked, perfected and packed’ at origin — preserving freshness, flavour, and natural goodness. Rooted in a philosophy that sees business as a matter of human service, this commitment to ethics and excellence defines every tea in this remarkable collection.
